Loui completed his primary medical degree at Mosul University, Iraq before moving to Brisbane where he worked as a clinical resident for three years. Loui then trained in anatomical pathology in NSW at the John Hunter hospital in Newcastle and Douglass Hanley Moir Pathology in Sydney.
He also spent one month during his training at the Mayo clinic in Arizona, USA. Loui was appointed as conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle and has a number of publications. He served
on the Hunter cancer biobank management committee, the RCPA pathology update overseeing committee and the trainee committee. Loui regularly attends national and international conferences and courses.
